Hello, and welcome to my page! I am a Board-certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of New Jersey and New York. I help those experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Further, through my military service, I worked with service members experiencing PTSD and trauma. I also have experience abroad with expatriate communities, helping them overcome challenges related to moving and living abroad.
My approach is to provide compassionate, supportive space for where clients can heal and grow at their own pace, and I am passionate about self-exploration, reflection, and meaningful connections. I believe in respecting each individual’s unique experiences, perspectives, and identities, and I incorporate culturally competent and affirming practices into my therapeutic approach. I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic, mindfulness-based approaches, and solution-focused therapy to help foster effective coping strategies for lasting change. I provide feedback around possible blind spots and encourage alternate ways of looking at issues. I would be honored to guide and support you in uncovering your strengths and pursuing a more fulfilling life.
I am open to working with clients from all ethnic cultures and backgrounds. I understand the importance of wanting a multicultural competent therapist. My primary clients are young adults, adults, families, and law enforcement. I offer services through telehealth in New Jersey and New York, and in-person sessions from my office in Northern New Jersey. I accept the insurance providers/plans listed on my profile for New Jersey. For New York, I accept out-of-network or self-paying clients. I offer appointments in the evenings and weekends to accommodate the busy schedules of my clients. Complimentary consultation sessions are available, so please reach out to me through email (meesha@meeshachanlcsw.com) or by telephone at (201) 897-2039.
