Bio

Welcome to KMR Psychology.  My name is Kelly Ma Rosso and I’m a Registered Psychologist providing personal and career counselling to adult individuals in person in Calgary, Alberta, and online for residents of Alberta, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

If life is feeling overwhelming, with feelings of guilt, shame, anxiety, and sadness affecting your sleep, relationships, and work, I’d welcome the chance to work with you to explore and create realistic changes so that life feels easier, and more authentic.  I have over 18 years of counselling experience using evidence-based approaches to help clients work through a variety of concerns.  I listen to truly understand your experiences and concerns and will collaborate with you to develop value-based goals.  I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to explore new ways of being, support you when challenges occur, and provide strategies to help maintain lasting changes.

Areas of specialty include personal growth, intercultural and intergenerational communication/conflict, workplace stress, depression, anxiety, and life transitions (e.g. relationship, career, aging).  My personal background and professional skills provide a wealth of  understanding and knowledge.  I was a child immigrant from China, grew up in Edmonton, graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the University of Alberta, and worked as a Professional Engineer in Calgary before realizing that working with people was much more aligned with my values.  After my career transition, I became a mom to twin girls.  I work hard to continually learn as a daughter of elderly parents, a parent to teenagers, a partner, and a psychologist.  It’d be an honour for me to use my skills and knowledge to help you move through your struggles and toward a healthier and happier future.  If you’re ready to make changes, I’d be happy to provide a free 15-min telephone or video consult to see how we can work together.
