AMHC Partner Since 2023
About Us
Relational Life Therapy is a radical, sophisticated approach to couples therapy created by Terry Real, LICSW. It’s our mission to bring the world back into connection—to ourselves, each other, and the planet as a whole.
RLT is more than a therapeutic method: it’s a movement and form of political activism. We’re concerned with deconstructing the “Great Lie” that one person or group is better or less than anyone else. We’ve made great strides in standing up to the force of patriarchy and helping us move beyond constructed gender roles into a way of living that is truly relational. Now we’re extending our activism beyond patriarchy to include race and other marginalized groups.
We are committed to opening the doors for more therapists from marginalized communities to train with us. Our partnership with Asian Mental Health Collective (AMHC) is an important and exciting step forward in that mission.
RLT + AMHC Partnership
We are delighted to provide scholarship opportunities for AMHC members to train in RLT. As a small and relatively new school, we will be opening scholarships in phases while we adjust to meet the demand. We will welcome the first 10 AMHC students in 2023.
We’re looking forward to raising the consciousness of all of us within the school, bringing exponentially greater diversity in our ranks, and opening RLT to people who may not have had as much exposure as we would have wished them to.
RLT Training Opportunities
RLT Certification
In 2023, we’re opening up the first 10 scholarship spaces for AMHC members to become fully certified in RLT at a 38% discount. The RLT Certification is the deepest training in RLT and contains all the theory, practice, and feedback required to truly master the model.
You can start this course immediately upon acceptance into the program. The 4 session practicum for RLT Level 1 for your cohort will be held on May 18th & 25th and June 1st & 8th, 2023 from 11:00am – 5:00pm ET
