Bio

I’m a second generation immigrant who grew-up in a multi-generational household with grandparents, parents, and other extended family members who are refugees of the American War in Viet Nam. Growing-up I heard many stories of my family and our family friends’ stories of what it looked like to be a refugee in that conflict. The events of the American War in Viet Nam has shaped who I am as a person and has motivated me to focus my work on intergenerational trauma while simultaneously navigating multiple cultures.

I have had the honor of working with people from various populations: HIV/AIDS prevention for women and youth, people with developmental disabilities, homeless/runaway youth, students, homeless Veterans, and some of the most vulnerable people in the 55+ age range. My population focus at this time are 55+ and multicultural communities especially those identifying as children of immigrant parents by forced migration.

I have had the privilege to live abroad and travel freely and experience various cultures for a number of years before settling into becoming a therapist. Being abroad gave me the opportunity to see people through a lens of connection without financial gain or constraints, which is what drives my practice today when it comes to serving financially vulnerable people in our community.

I draw upon therapeutic modalities including Neuroaffective Relational Model (NARM), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Flash Technique, and I can provide integration therapy for Psychedelic Assisted Therapies. I find these modalities can assist us in getting to the root of what may preventing us from being our “authentic self.”

You are the expert on yourself and I see my job as supporting you in moving towards clarity about your experiences and to create a strong foundation and different experience for yourself. My hope is that we can walk along side each other to help you connect and/or re-connect to your heart’s desires. I am looking forward in sharing this heart work with you.
